Cisco and Pancho trail "wanted" killer Copeland to an army recruiting station only to find he's enlisted under the name of Castle. Army doctor Dusman swears he's known Castle all of his life. Refusing to listen to Cisco's claim that the recruit is really Copeland, Dusman forces Cisco to let Copeland go free. Cisco checks on Dusman and finds he's a phony who is enlisting wanted criminals under dead mens' names in order to pirate army payroll shipments. But before he can confront the bogus doctor with evidence, Dusman is murdered by Copeland. Unknown to Cisco, Copeland now en route to rob an army payroll wagon is tipped as Cisco and Pancho gallop to save the payroll. Copeland lays an ambush for the famous range partners on the trail to the payroll wagon.
