Cisco and Pancho slug it out with an escaped criminal and capture him. They force from him his plan to meet three more escapees at Rimtown, but arrive too late to prevent a holdup. Jud, one of the escapees, flees his lookout post at the general store to warn the others that Cisco is after them. The storekeeper follows Jud to the convicts' hideout and is put out of action! The bandits loot the general store again, and Pancho, wearing the captured criminal's prison suit, is taken prisoner by the robbers. They whisk him away to the hideout and hold him hostage his life in exchange for Cisco's promise of "lay-off". But , wily Cisco makes no such promises! Using jumping beans as a "lie detector", he forces the captured bandit to tell Pancho's whereabouts and thunders to the rescue of his amigo.
