Cisco and Pancho are bushwhacked during a long desert ride their horses are stolen while they dodge the bullets of unseen and unexplained ambushers. Investigating, Cisco finds a fenced acre of desert closely guarded by outlaws.. He penetrates the guard to find the owner of the outlaw fortress, Carl Barton, who is really honest but is held prisoner in his own rancho by a crooked son. Bur Barton's reward for telling Cisco this is bullet in the back. Clues point to Barton's son as the killer, but Cisco's trap for the son turns up a surprising catch and a peck of trouble for The Cisco Kid!
