Cisco talks with a murdered man. Duke Martin claims to be an eye-witness to the murder of Tom Jordan by mine-owner Simon Telford. Martin asks Cisco and Pancho to help him bring Telford to justice, but apparently changes his mind in favor of blackmailing Telford. Martin explains his blackmail plans to Cisco and offers to cut him in. Cisco pretends to go along with the scheme, but rides to warn Telford. On the way Cisco comes face to face with Tom Jordan the man Martin claims Telford killed! Jordan knows nothing of the scheme, except that Martin paid him to keep out of sight. But before Cisco can alert Telford of the plot, Martin and his henchmen ambush Cisco on a canyon rim and overpower him. Martin and Cisco grapple desperately on the narrow ledge Cisco slips and topples to certain death in the rocky canyon!
