A fast-talking con man makes his living by provoking gunfights and betting on his youthful, dull-witted traveling companion (whose talent is his prowess with a six-shooter) to win the fights. His scheme provides him with a fancy living until finally the youth, through his friendship with Lucas and Mark, comes to realize he is being exploited in a deadly way.
