After Tantor the elephant pushes Dan's jeep out of the mud, Dan recognizes how helpful Tantor has been over the years. When he arrives at the camp, Dan finds Tarzan and Roger helping Jane feed herbal medicine to a sick turtle named Tortu. Dan suggests they have a party for Tantor. Everyone must bring their own special gift for the pachyderm. Over the following evening, Tarzan, Jane, Roger and Dan make gifts for Tantor. Tarzan sews a burlap sack. Jane embosses a scarf with Tantor's name on it. Roger designs a music box with a foot pedal, to make it easy fro Tantor to turn on and off, and Dan hand-crafts a long back-scratcher. The next day, they have a picnic and arrange all the presents on a large table outside. When they go inside to bring out the food, cheetah puts all the gifts into Tarzan's sack and runs into the jungle. Unfortunately, aside from stealing Tantor's gifts, Cheetah also takes Tortu's medicine. When the group finds the medicine missing, Tarzan goes off to find Cheetah. Tarzan soon finds that a Lion took the sack of presents from Cheetah's hiding place, and dropped it into the river. Tarzan spots an alligator swimming away with the satchel and dives into the river, wrestling the sack from jaws of the reptile. When Tarzan returns to the camp, he returns the medicine to Jane, and reminds Cheetah that he owes Tantor an apology. Cheetah apologizes, and give his red baseball cap to Tantor, as his own gift of appreciation.
