Dan brings Dr. Clive Rains into camp; much to the surprise of Jane. Rains has been a mentor to Jane, throughout her career. He explains that he wants to see if the tribe of gorillas that he discovered many years ago was still intact. Poachers have been murdering gorillas at an alarming rate. Jane takes Dr. rains on a safari into the jungle, in search of the great gorilla, Macuba, who Rains had observed many years before. Along the way, the old scientist gets very sick; apparently, he had forgotten his heart medication back at the camp. When Jane discovers what medication Rains has been taking, she realizes that he only has a few months to live. Jane calls Roger back at the camp, and asks him to find the bottle of lost pills. Roger cannot find them. Luckily, Cheetah fins the pills, and Roger and Dan airlift them to Dr. Rains. Once he is on his feet, the doctor walks onward and finally finds the gorillas he had known so many years before. His life's work is complete.
