TARZAN-S3-E24-Tarzan and the Fiery End

Duration 23m

After a night of vicious storms, Roger, Jane and Tarzan awaken to find a portion of their camp destroyed. Strangely, the debris looks more trampled, than toppled. It was as if a herd of elephants attacked. Tarzan talks to Tantor the elephant and discovers that the elephants in the jungle are upset that the Sapphire Elephant, an artifact of mysterious powers, has not been returned to the Ahunga Temple. Tarzan had taken the Sapphire Elephant to pay off the Commissioner, who wanted to draft Roger into the Bendali Army. The group agrees that now is the time to bring it back. Complicating the decision, however, is the deadly Field of Fire surrounding the Temple, and the elaborate booby traps concealed within. Jane begs Tarzan to take her with him so she can document the strange forces within the Temple. Tarzan is hesitant, but agrees. They voyage through the jungle together, encountering wild beasts and an unusual number of small, dead animals. Jane becomes concerned, because the small animals appear to be dead from gas poisoning. Perhaps the Fire Field is emitting mores gases than usual The seismic forces underground could set off an explosion of dynamic proportions. Jane calls Dan on the radio and asks him to bring dynamite to the Fire field, so they can exhume the excess gas from the Field. Before long, Roger and Dan arrive with he dynamite. The explosions they set are spectacular. Tarzan follows behind the dynamite with the Sapphire Elephant, dodging booby traps, nearly scathed by fire. Jane catches up with Tarzan just in time to see the brilliant beam of blue light emitted by the Sapphire Elephant when it is placed back in its resting place. She cannot explain the event with scientific principles. Tarzan and Jane return to camp, and find all of the mysterious winds, noises and storms have disappeared. A higher power has been appeased.
