TARZAN-S3-E25-Tarzan and the Return of the Bronx

Duration 23m

Roger has been working like a demon over the past week, helping out, with no complaints. When Jane offers to bake his favorite cake as a reward, she discovers why Roger wants a raise. Jane says that he will have to ask his father. Just as Roger is about to get into real trouble by calling Jane 'an old stick in the mud', Dan pulls up in his jeep with his godson form the Bronx, Carlos Mendosa. Carlos tells them that he persuaded his mother to let him come back for a visit but Dan isn't sure he really believes him. Later that night Dan receives a radio call from he police in Bandali saying that Carlos' mother called. She thinks he has run away from home and may be headed their way. Dan tells Tarzan the story and Tarzan gets an idea that may flush out the truth. He gets Jane to send Roger and Carlos out together on her ostrich egg census project in hopes that as two boys out together, Carlos may confide the truth to Roger. Tarzan will follow unobtrusively to make sure no harm comes to them. In the jungle, after Roger is hurt while pushing Carlos out of the path of a lion, Tarzan swoops in and, after giving his jungle cry, the lion slinks away. Carlos thinks that it is his fault that Roger is injured and that it would not have happened if the hadn't run away from home. He tells Tarzan the truth...Carlos promised his dying father that he would look after his mother. Not that his mother has remarried, he can't keep the promise and feels he isn't either wanted or needed. Tarzan tells Carlos his story about being raised by the Great Ape Kala, and how he did not fit in as a child among the Apes. As time passed, however, the other Apes realized that Kala loved them as well and that Tarzan was just a stranger being made welcome. This story makes a deep impact on Carlos and he realizes that he must go back and give everyone time to work things out and become a family again.
