Black Beauty seems a little more receptive to his new friends, although Vicky's first attempts at taming him end up with er seeing a lot more of the ground than the saddle. She and Jenny are learning a bit more about Manfred. The lad's cooking leaves a little to be desired but his eagerness to help is obvious and sorely needed.
