Frank as a committed newspaper man, has printed a story in the Yarrandilly Bugle about Bella being the sole survivor of the Astoria shipwreck. Dr. Austin is furious that Bella has not confided in him, and that he has found out Bella's past by reading the local newspaper. Weeks also reads the article about Bella and is overjoyed that there is someone around who can tell im what became of his cargo.
