Bella is under strict instructions to behaviour herself, but talks to the Doctor into letting her go for a ride on Beauty. Whilst she is in Yarrandilly, she meets Celia Osborne, the daughter of the local vet. Celia's horse is a local champion, and Bella is goaded into accepting a race to decide who is the fastest - Prince or Beauty. Frank is so confident in Bella and Beauty that he wagers his bike for a horse that Mr Osborne was taking to the yard sale.
