Using the county cattle inspector, Norm Slade, as his tool, Walt Stuart, cattle buyer who has his eyes on the Circle J Ranch, has Slade create a phony epidemic among the Circle J cattle, and then place the ranch under quarantine. Peggy Williams, owner of the Circle J, protests that unless she can ship her cattle to railhead for sale, she will lose the ranch, which is just what Stuart wants. Cisco and Pancho enter the scene at the time when some of Stuart's men are beating up Peggy's foreman and decide to lend a hand. Cisco and Panch soon discover the epidemic to be phony, with Stuart having Slade murdered before the inspector can talk. And while Pancho is dispatched to bring the state county inspector, Cisco, Peggy and her men drive the herd to the railhead. The heavies try to stop the drive and find themselves bottled up by Cisco. Stuart, revealed as the brains behind the scheme, attempts to make a break for it but is quickly subdued by Cisco.
