When Silas Bonnard, an old bum, learned that his daughter was coming to visit him, he grew panicky. In his letters to his daughter, he had built himself up as a wealthy rancher, and now faced exposure. Needing money fast, Silas takes a desperate chance and steals Cisco and Pancho's horses. He tries to sell Diablo and Loco to Sam Kelly, a seemingly respectable business man, but actually the head of a rustling ring. Kelly makes the old man tell the truth, and then sets him up as the owner of a ranch. But Silas doesn't realize that he is being used as a front for stolen cattle. Cisco and Pancho, coming across their horses being ridden by two of Kelly's men, get them back. They see Silas all dressed up, meet his daughter, and puzzled by the change in Silas, decide to pay him a visit at the ranch. On the way, Cisco and Pancho come across evidence of rustling, and when Kelly realizes that Cisco and Pancho are too close to the truth, he and his men try to bushwack them, but Kelly and his henchmen are the ones who get it in the end.
