Cisco and Pancho, while trailing a fence whose purchase of stolen jewelry makes it possible for outlaw leaders to exist, survive an attack by Pete and his segundo, Terry, and suspect that Toby Jason, a loveable old man with a mania for gems, is their quarry. Apprised that Cisco is out to get him, Toby, who runs a jewelry and clock store and who is a border-line case, attempts to get Cisco with a cross-bow, but the murder is prevented by his niece, Martha. Cisco and Pancho save Toby from death at the hands of Pete and Terry who try to rob him.
