Harry Gaines, who has escaped from prison with his confederate, Slick Wafford, convinces Lorraine Bentley, who is desperately in love with Gaines, that they had escaped for the sole purpose of digging up evidence that will absolve them of the crime they had been convicted of. Lorraine steers Cisco and Pancho into a position where Gaines and Wafford steal their clothes, guns and horses, and leave their own clothes for Cisco and Pancho to wear. Cisco and Pancho are picked up and arrested by the Sheriff who believes they are the escaped convicts. Cisco and Pancho are forced to engineer a jailbreak and encounter Gaines and Wafford again after they robbed a bank, and soon find themselves accused of the robbery. They elude the sheriff and cross the border in pursuit of Gaines and Wafford to bring them back in order to prove their own innocence.
